Now I am married with two boys in there mid twenties" still at home" and we all eat at different times on most days including Sundays
Sunday dinner can be anything from a pizza to some frozen ready meal to a proper dinner
with all the trimmings etc.
Don't times change . I can still hear Billy Cotton and cliff michellmores,s voice in the back of my head . God I am getting old.........

Da-da! That's it! That will make 6 small usual sized ones so just double it if you want more or want to make a toad in the hole or whatever. I sometimes like to add a pinch of herbs to mine too, when the mood takes me lol!
I'm not actually from Yorkshire although we live here now, but originally from Surrey!
Good luck with the Yorkies Julie! | Thanx will give them a try this week end...

| | | Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch We have the traditional roast at least two or three times a month although it's just as likely to be on a Saturday as a Sunday - whatever's most convenient that weekend. Like others on this thread we tend to have Yorkshire puds whatever meat we're having. My wife and kids are veg mad but I'm not. So their plates will be piled with peas, cauliflower, brocolli, fine beans, leeks, courgettes and carrots as a minimum with possibly sprouts, parsnips or swede as well, while all I have is some peas! I do like a baked onion occasionaly though.

Dave P. | I dont think you can beat roasting the Parsnips and Carrots, with the spuds and/or the meat. Soooo tasty.

| | | Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch Yorkshires with sugar and gravy. Just the best.
Yorkshires were originally served as a separate course, usually before the meat and veg in the old days.
In our multicultural island I'm surprised no ones mentioned a curry yet, on or off the bone.

But since my parents split up in 2002 it hasn't been such a regular occurance

Won't they go a bit soggy and yukky mashed tho *has image of disgusting over-boiled sprouts from school dinners*
Do try the stir-fry sprouts they're to die for. But please use pancetta cubes or smoked bacon lardons, fry them off first to get them crispy (leaving the oil from the pancetta), take them out, add finely chopped onion for a few mins, then chuck in the shredded sprouts for 6-8 mins (giving it a stir through occaisionally) then put the crispy pancetta back in - et voila! Yum on a plate!

Years ago i used to have leeks, potatoes and peppers with olive oil drizzled on top then roasted. OMG i am really hungry now!!

jen xxx | We love sprouts in our house (not so keen on the side-effects mind you but we won't go there lol!) Our son especially loves this dish with oven roasted salmon mmmmmm....!
Yep, done the roasted med veggies plus leeks, infact anything to hand and I'll throw it in too, but I have to add garlic and thyme, gives it an extra zing!
Just made a plum crumble for puds today (don't usually make dessert, but it's been raining all day and I need some comfort food!!!)
Blimey I'm hungry now.... best get cooking lol!

I could sit Here reading about your ideas for hours.
Being a 5* chef it entrigues me as to the adaptations of recipe's etc.
And cazzie mashed sprouts can work wonders.
Jen, you asked about brekkie, Who will cook dinner???
Its a no wonder you both reached a 1000 at the same time, the amount of threads where you talk to each other
