I can't win with tomatoes for some reason, but have chillies, courgettes and runner beans on the go this year all looking ok so far!
I did have about five varieties of chilli but red spider mite killed all the seedlings only left with a purple one with purple fruit, a stunted purple cayenne and two apache.
Does anyone have a good recipe for Chilli jam? |

This courgette and potato soup recipe by Nick Nairn is very nice. BBC - Food - Recipes - Courgette and potato soup
Didn't get home until around 8 last night so we had a curry. |

Went strawberry picking again today so that is pud sorted!!!
Also in the farm shop I managed to get some fresh yeast which I'm mega chuffed with as I've got a lovely bag of organic malt flour that requires the use of fresh yeast so I'll be having a go at that tonight and might even use my new loaf tin that I bought too!! |

| | | Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch We have our Sunday lunch at tea time Because the weather is so blinking miserable at the moment we're having roast beef with yorkshires, roast potatoes, cabbage, carrots and mashed swedes (these are from my FILs garden) - then for afters (if we can manage it LOL) I've made a blackberry and apple pie - the berries are from the brambles growing in my hedge and the apples are from my little 3in1 tree which always fall off before they ripen but hopefully they'll be OK in a pie |
