Had you been journeying by car last weekend you could have made a small detour to get some lavender flavour and could have made a cool box up for you! Oh well next time hey

I like the sound of all of that, can you be a bit more specific abut the diced veg? It sounds a great combination.

I will also try making fried Salsify in breadcrumbs should be tasty with a nice shoulder of Pork & perhaps as I have for some time wanted to try this, fill cooking Apples with stuffing instead of raisins for a more savoury option!

Stewy it's Seabass for me tonight

Don't tell Julie Jez, she'll be round yours before you can say "Bass"!

Had homemade shepherds pie this evening with veg.

Never had salsify or kohlrabi before.

Saslify has a nicer flavour in my opion to parsnips, definately worth a try. Chop into 2" lengths add clear vinegar and lemon to the water to keep the colour, boil for about 5-10 mins then unpeel the flesh (should come away very easily)! Kohlrabi steamed tastes like a nutty cabbage-I love this lovely looking root veg!

Like you Stewy i've been making my own Sheperds Pies over the last month. Can't think why I'd never made them before-so so simple

Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch

i have a happy boyfriend this afternoon after he got in from work to a pork and stuffing sunday roast with lots of lovely bits like mashed sweet potato (although wedges in garlic salt and mild chilli powder works really well), baked onion and mushroom, onion and streaky bacon in soy sauce with a sesame oil finish, mmmmmm....... you just can't get all these interesting lttle fave bits in a resturant. Roasties were delish if i do say so myself!

Re: Traditional Sunday Lunch

Where did you get the mutton? You don't see a lot of it about in butchers but I believe it's getting more popular, I think old prince Charlie has been championing it.

It comes in the 'meat box' delivery we get delivered from the organic, locally produced box scheme. I'd recommend it to anyone, the meat (and fruit and veg) is lovely!

p.s. Stewy, I skipped the cheese & biscuits and went straight onto the extremely bad-for-you but extremely tasty ice cream
