Ollie | I really hope so Ollie, I'll have to be patient I know, I have given Greg my old camera now. (just so he dosen't feel left out  ) I also got a 90-300mm canon ef lens as well, 1 gig memory card, spare battery and bag. So I am a happy bunny and I just have to learn how to use it all now.  |

Matt | Thanks Matt, I have a lot to learn! I am going to try to learn a bit tonight and give it a trial at Risley tomorrow morning. Greg says it's my early birthday present, my birthday's not till July, I am sure he will have forgotten he bought it me by then not! |

So I am a happy bunny and I just have to learn how to use it all now. | Just about same set up as mine Barbara except I got the Sigma 70-300mm lens I won't even attempt to give you any tips on using it as I am very much a novice (improving I hope) myself but there are many others on here who will I am sure oblige if asked.
Have fun with it and as I said look forward to seeing some photos soon

Thankyou all, Sorry I have not replied sooner only we had visitors (the human kind) not had time to look at my camera yet  only just taken it out of the box and I want to learn something about it before I take it out in the big wild world tomorrow morning. And yes I will be hoping to upload loads of photos.......eventually. I will do my best, just to keep you moderators busy.

oooh, I ordered one from Amazon last week and it's due to be delivered this week. I would have paid for the extra postage if I knew it was going to take this long! Good luck with yours!

Helen | Thanks Helen, I do hope it arrives soon for you, I was going to order mine online but couldn't wait, I finish work for a week and a half on Wednesday so I am going to have plenty of time to practice, hopefully your will have arrived by then. Congrats Barbara the 350D will serve you well. Best piece of advice I could offer is try to shoot in manual exposure mode and use the exposure metering as a guide only. The Av and Tv modes are ok but they almost always need exposure compensation dialled in |
