because i can walk to my english bakers in my english village and see an english loaf....or i can open my english oven and make my own english bread. I cannot then go down the lane and feed it to a bloomin' white tiger.

If I may be permitted to interject here...
Actually the bread thing could be about British Wildlife, if you make your own sourdough starter, which uses yeasts and bacteria floating about in the air to get it started. It's just such a shame that there's no Wild Yeast Section on this forum, and where can I post things about Lactobacillus??

Can see it now. 'Yeast ID required', 'Common Yeast?','How can I attract yeast to my feeders?'

This is a nutty thread!

Don't worry Dan, I am female, that's what the "Jane" at the end was intended to signify. And I'm not 77 (not quite anyway).

Thanks, I'll try the glaze next time.

Re: Your hobbies.

My two main hobbies are astronomy and building 12th scale dollhouses and
miniatures.
The modelmaking is a great stress buster for me...

Phew back on to hobbies,
Mine after wildlife are
Kate Humble
Home made wine, sadly we've been far to busy so far this year so far to make any. Over the last couple of years we've tried all these: Bramble, elderberry, elderflower(my fav) elderberry and bramble, ginger(very strong) marrow(a bit of a disaster) and plum.
And going to the pub.
