I do think we should do more to support the womens teams but it's a bit like watching a Conference match, or Sheffield Wednesday ,,,,

Re: World Cups

What a great game of Cricket India V Pakistan was last night.. Never seen a cricket Tie Break before..But it was great almost as tense as Footballs penalty shoot outs.
Only down side is the game sent Scotland home..

I love football infact i am an addict but i just cant get into womens football at all (and i am a woman)

Re: World Cups

Great shame that Heskey look's to have got injured, just when he'd made such a successful return to the England soccer team.

Re: World Cups

Sorry to see that Nicole Cook missed out on the womens' world championship this year - perhaps she'll win at the World Cup next month - confusing when championships and cups are different things ....
And what's the chance of one of our chaps winning at the World Cup - for the time trial I think not a bad chance.

Quite a humorous review of the match in the paper this morning. Suggests that we should blame Thatcher for all these metatarsal breakages - if she hadn't stopped free school milk then youngsters would have had much better calcium supplies in their diet and we wouldn't now be getting all these chaps with tender bone structures? Well, I'll go for it

Re: World Cups

Oh dear another dissappointing display by England in the 20/20... Looks like we will be going home (empty handed again).. At least as a country in sport we are consistent at one thing being a total let down

No, I read that she was injured so unlikely to ride for the Cup ...

Re: World Cups

Oh well England Cricketers have Blown it again.. Losing to India....So now have to pick another team to follow as we will be on plane home in nxt couple of days. One day one of our national teams will shock us by actually looking like they want to win, not as if they are there just to make up the Numbers

Re: World Cups

Well there's a fair amount of competition at the bottom of the league - although, yes, must agree, I think that Derby will be there at the end of the season - despite Jagielka. Must admit a certain disgruntlement that Derby seem to have acquired some of the Blades better players over the last few years - sufficient to get Derby promoted and Sheffield relegated (that and crooked tactics by the Hammers!)
