Re: Golden Retriever

I'm so pleased that search for a new friend for Max has been so successful John, and what a lovely looking dog Sunny is too - he's got a really kind face and reminds me greatly of my old dog.
Always nice to see a happy ending.

Re: Golden Retriever

Hi John, I wish i'd have been aware of your dilmea some months ago. We have a lovely Goldie called Storm, he's 4 years of age. Unfortuantely due to our work circumstances, Storm doesn't get the attention he deserves. Although its heartbreaking,we as a family know he would be happier being rehomed by someone who can give him the love and attention Goldies need. We are at a loss at where to go because the children & my husband desperately want some contact after rehoming, which i'm advised is a bad thing to do. Unless they come around to that way of thinking i really don't know what to do . However i do know Storm's needs should come first. If you or anyone out there can help i'd love to hear from you. We live in Liverpool by the way.

Hi Susan

First of all a very warm welcome to WAB.

If you had told me about this when we first started this thread Ros & I would have been up there like a shot. However we found our Sunny and we couldn't wish for a better dog. I have attached one of the latest pictures where he has made friends of one of the local children. I think you will agree that it is a nice photo.

Regarding Storm. The only piece of advice I can give you is to use this link as it is a link to the Golden Retriever section. http://www.dogpages.org.uk/breedr.htm

Look down it and you will see the North West is represented in Chorley, complete with phone number. Give her a ring and I am sure she will be able to help and advise you.

Good luck and I hope it works out well for both you and Storm.

Re: Golden Retriever

Hi
Have you managed to find a new dog?
I have a fantastic 6 year old golden retriever named Archie who needs to be rehomed due to ill health on my part and his. I have M.S and cannot look after Archie as well as he deserves and he has recently been having fits which are controlled with medication.
We did rehome with the dogs trust but we collected after 2 days , it didn't seem right leaving him in kennels when hes been a family dog all his life.
Can you help??

Oh Star.

I wish I could help. Yes we did get another dog but you probably haven't noticed that I have put a thread in the TreeHouse Forum regarding the fact that I came home from Turkey on saturday only to find that my Mrs had disappeared to unknown parts and had taken the dogs with her. I'm not in a position to take on another dog now, I wish i could.

I hope you find a good home for him. Have you tried the Golden Retriever Rescue service. here is a link to it. Dog Rescue Pages UK Breed Rescues - Chesapeake Bay, Curly Coated, Flat Coated, Golden, Labrador Retrievers.

Look through the list of contacts and choose the one that is local to you. They may be able to help you. That is the way we found Sunny (after Jasper was put to sleep).

John
