This is where I’ve been for the past 4 days (Lake District)
WWT Martin Mere
The Squirrel Pantry – Cockermouth
Muncaster Owls
WWT Caerlaverock – Scotland
Alpacca Centre Penrith
Ostrich World – Penrith
Whinlatter Visitors Centre
Lowther Hall Falconry Centre.
Now It’s back to work for a rest !

The Lowther Falconry Centre is great, we went there last year and had a great time. We also visited the Osprey project while we were up there as well which is worth a visit.
I have to say I'm a little enviouse of your being up that way for a few days. I will be passing through there tomorrow on my up to work in Scotland but won't have any time to go anywhere while I am there. |

There's a camera on the nest still, as they often pop back. We were told they had been back to the nest early that morning.
At WWT Caerlaverock in Scotland they also have a nest cam on an Ospreys nest. This year they failed to lay any eggs. We went in one of the hides where the wardens were keeping a lookout for them on the Solway. They had seen one with a fish on a piece of driftwood earlier and one flying over.

Hi Keith,
when we went there we were at the centre on the opposite side of the lake from the nest and I think if memory serves me right the cam viewing is at the centre on the nest side of the lake? I must admit that even with the scopes it was hard to really see anything on the nest but while we were there one of the osprey came down to an outcrop in the lake nearer our side and we got some great views of it feeding. |

One is the visitors centre via camera. The other is at the Dodds Wood site.
