Some advice please

As some of you may have gathered from my other posts I intend to start camping again soon this year. I am going to get a one man bivi hopefully but have seen two variants. One is olive green and the other camoflaged.

I used to have alot of camoflaged clothing from when I was in the forces but I can't find it, therefore to invest in more camoflaged gear seems a little foolish.

Do you think I should buy the olive green bivi or risk the camo version?

thanks in advance

I have an ex army olive green goretex bivi bag and I find it fine, though there is not much room if you want to put any kit in it. I would recommend getting a hammock and tarp setup, its great and sooooooo comfortable, but you do need two trees. I have a friend who has a £2000 bed and he says his hammock is more comfortable.....................Jon

Its the ex army versions I am considering I have to say. I sleep on my front so a hammock is not going to happen.

You can sleep on your front in a hammock, you just need to set it up right. I sleep on my side and always used to think that too, but I have had no probs, give one a try if you get a chance. As for bivi's, they usually go for about £40 on ebay. When I sleep in a bivi, I still use a tarp (hoochi, basha) over the top if it is likely to rain, so I am more comfortable and can cook without getting wet. Whatever way you go, its still far better than sleeping in one of those tin things that hold up all the traffic................Jon (in trouble now)

What a speed camera?

I am looking for a bivi tent, not just a bivi.

My phobias mean I cannot be exposed in the way that a bivi bag would have me.

The bivi tents are going for considerably more than 40 boys on ebay at present

This is the one I have........

Or how about this one...........http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-man-Bivi-Bas...QQcmdZViewItem

Re: Some advice please

This one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEBI%3AIT&rd=1

but I like the one you posted first actually.

The type above are going for the 160 mark. Bit pricey and I can't justify it this month but I do like this one

http://www.fieldandtrek.com/cat_id/E...-Bag-32193.htm

as its less than a kg but wonder how big the pole is?

But either would be fine, so Mum if you are looking at this...
