There's quite a long obituary on Phil Drabble, who died on 29th July, in today's Times. I remember watching him on One Man And His Dog and In The Country. I think he was about the last of the old Jack Hargreaves-type countrymen. |

One of the first wildlife men to reach a mass audience, suprising the pundits and himself,
a real gentleman he will be missed
I believe the Queen consulted him on occasions!!!

He was a great character - I met him several times (pre OMAHD days) and he was always fun to talk to!
