Not flooded where I live but no water in the taps...not much fun standing filling buckets from bowsers in the rain either, for that matter. |

| | | Re: New logo I sympathise Solus, it is surely a difficult time for many people. But we are British and comments on the weather, humorous or not, are a national pastime. No disrespect is meant I am sure. Lets not get too PC, I like the new logo, it is certainly very apt. Maybe a new logo for every condition? – Excellent stuff

My point was just that it might be upsetting to anyone who has had their home flooded to think that their predicament was in any way being made fun of. I was in Tewkesbury today and it just broke my heart to see piles of ruined sofas, carpets, rugs, fridges, washing machines and even framed pictures and personal possessions outside some houses while their occupants were desperately trying to clean the muck and silt from inside. Places with marks halfway up the doors and higher showing just how far the floodwater came... and all this, remember, with no mains water. I just thought in the circumstances, the new logo was perhaps a touch insensitive. |

It's not as tough the logo has got floating sofas, with ducks laughing at homes underwater. This site is about British wildlife and the environment, big areas of which are currently underwater...that's just a fact and the logo represents the situation. What about all the animals homes and animals that didn't escape the flooding?
Maybe we shouldn't ever post a logo with a rainbow in it as could be considered insensitive to people who are colour blind...or one with a blazing sun that might offend redheads who burn easily and have to stay indoors |

Google did something very similar the other day as did some of the regional weather forecasts.
incidentally a work colleague who lives in oxford has a great picture of as duck sitting on the sofa in his flooded lounge , and it really does look as tho the duck is laughing.
I guess I better not get him to post tho it incase anyone finds it offensive

| | | Re: New logo I think the Logo is great. Its nice to change it now and again depending on the weather or anything else.
I think this country has gone PC mad, these days you dont seem to be able to do anything for fear of offending someone.
The fact is no matter what spell of weather we have someone is effected, To much sun and we have hosepipe Bans and farmers and fruit and veg growers lose crops, to much snow and we lose animals and people die, Gale force winds and peoples houses get damaged, lightening Kills people and damages homes....
Life is a series of hazards and catastrophies thats just the way it is..... But the one thing we all hang on to is a sense of humour.. if we didnt we would all be suicidal..
I think all this PC rubbish should be ban and we should get back to being able to say and do what we want like the good old days!!
keep the Logo's comming Stu
