Well, what a day. We've been to a photography masterclass with photographer, zoologist and writer Mark Carwardine.
It would be impossible to write down everything we've learnt, seen and practised today.
Mark is a top nature photographer-works with folk like David Attenborough, to give you an idea of the callibre of his work and experience.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link in his site but all you need to do is type Mark Carwardine into google and you'll get his site up.
I now understand a whole lot more about photography-and where I go wrong, although he was very complimentary about some shots I'd taken.
I'm not so scared of my camera now, understand more about F stops, DOF, and general experimentation. I had no idea what my camera was capable of until Mark pointed these features out to me. Amazing!
Now what I need to do is practise and get out there amongst the wildlife.
His showcase and talk this evening was simply stunning and I now have two books written and signed (of course) by him-On the Trail of the Whale and a Collins Wild guide-Whales and Dolphins.
He has given myself and the group an incredible insight into world conservation issues and it has reinforced how important any attempts at conservation are, even if they seem insignificant to some.
If you ever get the chance to go to one of his classes...go. Absolutely brilliant!
Jules
