Help Needed

Does anybody know of definitive lists of what is British? I am wanting lists for:-

Mammals
Wildflowers
Invertebrates
Insects
Mushroom and Toadstools
Spiders
Trees

If possible downloadable lists from the Web would be best, but whatever you can come up with.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Help Needed

wildone, a couple of links here:

http://www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...ritish_mammals

www.arkive.org/species/ARK/mammals/index.html

If you want a hand I'll be glad to compile the mammal list. Just give me a deadline! If so do you want only native mammals, or introduced as well

Alan, had a quick look at the wikipedia list and that looks ideal for my purpose. What I need is lists that we can use to determine into which category an image should go. Rather like the BOU lists A, B amd C.

It is rather difficult with several people moderating images to make sure everything is put where it should be and not have images of the same subject in different galleries. Think there might have to be some discussion about the introduced species, but sure we can come to an agreement.

Thank you for your offer of help, but I will try to download the wikipedia list. If I have trouble then I'll get back to you.

It may be a good idea to compile one list with a column which give the animals status, such as introduced, native, feral etc.
