Errant Mouse

Actually it is not an errant mouse but an errant mouse pointer.

Why does my mouse pointer, on my laptop screen, seem to have a mind of its own? It keeps wandering across the screen on its own accord and if I try to pull it back its not having any of it. Can last up to maybe 10 seconds.

Is the mouse pointer behaving itself now? With all the writing you have been doing it hasn't been exactly overworked.

Its been like it for a couple of weeks. Quite annoying and I have seen it on colleagues laptops also. Always amused me when it was theirs but frustrates me like mad.

Maybe we're all catching repetative mouse syndrome

Had something similar on my pc, down to some malware trying to prevent me using the av software from removing it.

Hope yours is a little less dangerous.

If it's a virus or malware try a scan or a burst of spybot. If it's a dodgy driver, try reinstalling or if recently changed, maybe go back to a restore point - but back up important date first.

Cheers for that. Could well be an iffy driver as I had probs with my PCMA card and had to have it replaced recently. About the same time. Am running a program now and have quite a bit of spyware on my system so will have to delete it. Nice one

Windows still gets a lot of conflicts with drivers when updating equipment. The restore point may be the solution. Try microsoft's site for latest drivers too.
