| | | Re: My Woods Update It covers over an acre I think (will find out ).. they did tell me but i have forgotten
But its split into 2 Parts.
The last picture is where my log cabin classroom will be along with a shaded seating area for outside lessons.. Will use trees they have to cut down for seating and tables. The first Picture is a Separate narrow area which is where they want to put a small play area with rope swings, Log stepping stones, along with a few other things made from wood and natural materials for the kids to play on.. Not to keen on having much there..So will try to limit it if possible..
One Area they have agreed to leave completely untouched and not remove anything, where the children wont go except with me in small groups. This will have nesting Boxes for Birds and bats with cameras in... So they can compare the wildlife that uses that area with the wildlife that uses the areas we will use. We will also build a Hide in the middle of the woods for the children to use, where they can see both areas.. We are also going to do the Bug Hotel
Until the woods are ready...They have already started work on a small wildlife area outside the woods where they have nesting Boxes, herb garden, and feeders up as well as a bee box and a home for ladybirds .. They have built a wormery which i am going in to fill after the summer holidays and have now got a composting area as well, which i am going in to start off and give a lesson on after the summer.. And make some Bird feeders from different containers I have recycled and make Bird treats to hang in some of their many trees that arent in the woods.. So I am spending the summer getting some fun lessons together ready for September.

If you explain what you're up to to some some gardening centres, pet shops etc, they might supply you with some bird boxes and feeders etc and I'm sure there will be some local pots of cash for projects such as yours, that you would have the right to dig into, especially as it's for children.
I have a friend that's just gone off on holiday but as soon as he's back I'll see if he's got some contacts in your area that'll help you.
Jules

Jules | Thanks Jules that would be great, and will contact shops etc once I know what is happening, when.
Once the school shuts for summer I wont be able to get into the woods as they are inside the school grounds. Mayne we will be able to sort a date out once the schools go back in September
