Now that Springwatch is finished, is there any point owning a TV until, like, a week in Autumn!? |

With, if required a highlights programme every Friday with Kate and Simon. Did I forget somebody? No.

I always tend to think it's like spring watch anyway, with people sitting for hours watching strange little creatures going about their daily business!

BTW Carl has your set not got an off switch? You are not forced to watch programs you don't find interesting.

I do admire people who choose not to watch TV or get rid of it altogether but then they miss out on programmes such as Countryfile etc. I do try to be selective in what I watch but then if someone else in the household is watching something like 'Big Brother' I must admit I find myself joining in with the rest of the so-called morons so perhaps I am one myself! TV (whether good or bad) is so addictive I feel.

| | | Re: Why O why..... Whilst I agree about the standard of some "tabloid" television programmes I do wonder where some of you guys are coming from.
Having travelled the world a fair bit whilst working I have to say that the BBC offers the best service anywhere and it is well worth the license fee in my humble opinion - Personally I would even be willing to pay double!
No doubt some of you would be willing to pay £8-10 to watch a 3 hour film at the local multiplex so if you are willing to pay say £3/hr for entertainment you can afford to switch off the dross and still be quids in with a TV! - did anyone watch the programme about bird song this evening ... wacky in places but a real eye opener ... have a look, watch and listen here BBC - BBC Four - Why Birds Sing
As for those without TVs, that is your choice and I respect it but a life without TV is a bit like celebacy - it isn't for everyone.
