Robbed?

I am wanting to get a ferry to Ireland and it seems to be over a ton each way. Am I getting robbed? I will be on my own with my car

I suppose it depend on where your travelling to and from, time of day and size of car etc etc. Most start at around £89 that I know of and thats Pembroke to Rosslare with Irish Ferries. Blooming expensive business tho. Last time we went we were on the last ferry before all were cancelled due to bad weather. To say it was a rough crossing is an understatement! It took 6 hours and I wasn't the only one that saw their breakfast for a second time that day..............

One problem is going alone - it's obviously cheaper with 2-4 people in a car.
That apart, I have seen much cheaper fares but they tend to be time-limited offers - I've not really gone into the best periods for travel. The other option which, oddly, may be cheaper is to go on foot and hire a car when you get there ..... alternatively do all your travelling by public transport (or foot!) - the biggest charge on ferries is for the car ...

or go by train and hire a car - difficult with a decent degree of luggage i'll admit - or take a motorbike which is quite a bit cheaper on the ferry - my mate col took a harley sportster last year for 55 notes return

If its cheaper to go with 2 or 3 more in the car I shall book and just pretend I am going with mates.

aaahhh might be a slight confusion there mate - I think he means its cheaper with 2 or 3 cos you share the cost of taking the car not cheaper overall , doh

sorry mate - I had a hard day yesterday

saying that the year before last i tried to book a house through a well known agency (for just me) and had the following conversation

them: sorry sir we have a rule that we dont accept single sex parties
