| | | Springwatch Is it just me, or is anyone else really going to miss settling down on the sofa with a cup of tea at 8pm to watch Springwatch? My wife and I have sat there, enthralled, for the past three weeks, and were both saddened to think it is the very last one tomorrow evening .... okay, it can get a little twee sometimes, and I just wish that Bill would reign himself in occasionally, but overall I think it can hardly be faulted, and you certainly cannot knock the obvious regard for our native wildlife in all concerned with making the programme, and why it is such a runaway success.

| | | Re: Springwatch I'm certainly going to miss the 8pm slot but, hopefully, I'll catch up on my sleep deprication as I can't seem to turn off the Springwatch Nightshift! Everytime I go to turn off and get some kip I stop incase I miss something
Has been a brilliant series, though. It would be great if they could do summer- and winter watch too.

That's what I thought .... one for each of the seasons ... and make it four weeks at a time!!

Yes I'd like it year round too, perhaps swap presenters between seasons or something..... |

| | | Re: Springwatch I'll definitely miss it. It's not often you get the privilege to watch young owls, hen harriers etc. on the nest. I also can't switch the night time one off! Nothing happens for ages but it just might! I'd certainly vote for a seasonal one. I'm surprised it's not been done considering the success of Springwatch. I suppose they'd have to work harder, without the nesting birds, but there's plenty of wildlife to witness all year round. |

| | | Re: Springwatch I would agree that it is a brilliant program but I did get restless sitting in front of the tv each night. Especially this week with BBC Fours bird week shows straight after.
Saying that I still prefer the real thing, and from watching the show I managed to see 3 tawny owls last weekend in the Forest Of Dean and anothe Juvenile tonight walking the dogs on my local patch. Springwatch is happening all around us!! |
