| | | website hosting Having got sick of the limitations of templated sites such as clikpic , i am now writing my own (using serif page plus 10 which seems remarkably easy to use). I know a lot of folk on here have their own sites and i wondered who you would recommend for hosting
I will want to have my own domain (and ideally register this through the host), and ideally be able to have @domain email addresses (either with in boxes or forwarding to another email account) - and I would prefer to pay no more than a tenner a month
all ideas gratefully recieved

| | | Re: website hosting Hi Pete,
I can't help with hosting I'm afraid since I have a friend who sorts that out for me. However, I got my domain name from Domain registration - Domain registration company UK - UKreg. Have a look at their site and they can tell you instantly which names are available.
For what it's worth, I organise the images on my site via JAlbum.

| | | Re: website hosting I use 1&1 you have a choice to use templates or design your own.I pay £4.99 a month which is taken 3 monthly and I have 600 mb of space 153,600 files are allowed.I have no complaints and when I first started they were quick to answer my emails when I had problems as I was very new to it.I use front page which is like using word and although very new to webbuilding and the internet I soon got the hang of it.I use FTP but they now have a exploer window where you can just drop your drag and drop your files from the computer although I prefer to use terrapin ftp.Hope this helps
Here is the link where you can see what packages they offer 1&1 Internet Ltd.oe-oe WebHosting oe-oeHosting |

| | | Re: website hosting Hi Pete you might like to check this company out. Award winning web hosting UK - SupaNames. Linux hosting, Windows hosting. I have been using them for more than seven years with no problems at all. £16:44 per year including VAT. Domain name included, PHP support and much more. 150mb webspace. In short everything you could need with 24 hour support, but I have never needed it.

| | | Re: website hosting Any other clikpic users with their site 'unavailable'. Not good at all! Their customer service is seriously lacking.
I'll have a look at the suggestions put forward in this thread.

| | | Re: website hosting Like cherrybee I use 1&1 and have been very happy with them - no problems at all so far (though I've only been using them for about 15 months). I use their Home package, £4.99 + VAT per month, 1.5Gb space. You can get your own domain name and domain name email addresses with them. |
