I'll admit I have been encountering difficulties in trying to load some of my photos to the gallery (they keep being bounced so will have to have a one to one with someone about what to do there)

Yesterday at work someone came in congratulating me ... not only had some of my photos been given a full page spread in the local free paper, one of them made the front page too! It was a lovely feeling to be able to show off though

Well done you, no wonder you are happy . I can't tell what area you are in from your profile yet, so where will people be able to see these photo's?

Yes, well done you. Hope to see some of the pictures soon. The most usual reason people have difficulties is because the pictures are too big, but I'd suggest you pm one of the gallery editors to get some advice.

when you say your images are being bounced, do you mean that they don't upload successfully or do they appear to upload successfully but then you later receive a rejection e-mail (because they've been rejected by a moderator)?

If they are not uploading successfully then this is likely to be because the file size is too big (they must be less than 500kb). If they are being rejected by a moderator then this is almost certainly due to one of three reasons (1) they are not big enough (all images must be at least 800 pixels wide) (2) they are not titled correctly. They should be titled in the form 'Common Name - Scientific name'. (3) the image quality is not sufficient e.g. if they are out of focus or if the subject matter is too small within the image.

I'm in Grimsby and I did check the website for the paper too, but didnt see any of the images on there but they may end up there at a later date maybe?

Have just been reading the thread about not using 3rd party websites for hosting images and saw I'm not the only one with the problem, but hopefully its something which can be resolved somehow
