I did not set foot outside the house all day today. The weather has been awful and we made a decision to stay in to catch up on some chores.
Firstly I got distracted when Mrs
Roe deer decided to sit in the field outside our house all morning with junior frolicking in the tall grass.....
More pictures of Junior in the gallery.
While Mrs Roe and Junior were in the field, along comes Mrs Muntjac on our side of the fence (about 2 metres away from Mrs Roe). She did not want to pose for a decent photo....
While I was watching the deer, a stock dove paid a visit, sitting in the ash tree next to our house. The insurance company insisted that we trim back the ash tree dramatically because it is so close to the house (ash was there first). The good news is that it makes it easier to photograph the birds now that it has been trimmed back. I had never seen a stock dove before

....
Interesting, there are 2 kinds of lichen on that branch -
Parmelia sulcata and
Evernia prunastri. Amazing what you can see with a long lens.
This afternoon, there were lots of little fluffy, fluttery blue tits trying to feed from the feeders and generally trying to stay airborne, right in front of the kitchen window

Sorry, no photos. The camera was upstairs in case Mrs Roe and junior came back.
I am glad these blue tits have flown the nest because the woodpecker has been hammering away at the nest box
This evening, Mrs Marsh Tit (fairly sure its not Willow) and babies were feeding below the feeder. Have not seen her all the time she was on the eggs. D**n camera still upstairs, so no photos.
All in all an eventful and interesting day, and yes, I did get some chores done too.
