| | | Re: New style for the WABsite I think it looks good, especially the links at the top, the same style as Wild About the World now. However I'm another one who can't find the diaries!

| | | Re: New style for the WABsite having played with it for an hour or so, I think it works, it's certainly faster. I have one request: would it be possible to have an icon bar at the end of a thread as well as the beginning? It's just it's a real pain, when you get to the end of a long thread, to have to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to get to the New Posts button.
Cheers

| | | Re: New style for the WABsite Change is always a problem, especially when you are dealing with people interested in conservation - we tend to be a conservative bunch, and there are always going to be issues, getting used to it and just plain old reluctance to see what you have got used to n longer there. It's pretty good I think, although the shock of the new has got to me asmuch as it has to others, I'll adapt though.
Having said all that, I do feel that the icons (new posts/diary etc) don't work. Some of the images are not intuitive, and if you do not use them often, it can take a bit of a trawl to work out which one you want. If you are new to the site and not aware of for example the new post search facility, you may not pick out that it is there for use. I think that the text name description rather than icon would be better retained for a better user interface.
Otherwise, good work.
Cheers
Sven

| | | Re: New style for the WABsite I thought my better half had upgraded the laptop when I went on the internet this evening - new web designs for this and the official west brom site (yeah, I know an interest in the countryside and football; I'm a rare breed).
Having played around on it I have to admit I like the changes. Regarding the confusion over the icons - why do I get a 'text' box telling me which each one is when I move the cursor over it, is it a help option I've got turned on? Will the laptop work quicker if I turn it off?.

Mike | no, the text is standard and pops up when you move your cursor over an icon.
You'll have enjoyed the football tonight then?
