campsite weddings

hi there, we are getting married in September and wanted some suggestions of how we might go about doing it the way we planned.Basically we would love to have a big yurt put up outside with a bonfire and barbeque and have freinds and family stay on site over the weekend.
Any sugestions of beautiful hippy campsites or accomodating farmers with land not too far from London where this might be posible.
Any leads would be much appreciated.

Re: Campsite weddings

Hiya Anil,

Any luck with this? We're looking for something very similar for our wedding next summer. I'm just starting the search! I haven't contacted them yet but there's a top little campsite called Blackberry Wood about 10 miles north of Brighton. It's quite well known these days and booked quite far in advance, but we stayed there a while back and it may be just what you're after. Beautiful woodland setting, 20+ pitches, licensed for campfires and run by a very nice couple who may be willing to accommodate. Let me know how you get on and I'll do like wise - I'll be hunting around and will let you know of anything/anywhere I find.

All the best.
Rob

Re: Campsite weddings

There is a campsite in Cornwall that has a number of Yurts perminantley pitched. I have never been there so can not say if it is any good or not

Yurt holidays @ South Penquite Farm

Also this site list campsites in the UK and you can search on amongst other things if they will allow fires

The UK Camp Site for Tent and Caravan Campers in the UK

Again I have never used this site so no idea how good it is

Re: Campsite weddings

try these guys

The Hoopoe Yurt Hotel this is a yurt hotel which offers 4 yurts as accom

or

The Authentic Mongolian Yurt Company while this is a yurt dealer but who also hires yurts and has a campsite for them

also cloud farm campsite in exmoor are fairly easy going - I've never tried to put a yurt up there but i know they have ample space and allow fires etc details etc here Camping at Doone Valley Holidays

if you do go here dont take a vehicle into the field in wet weather - this was where bods and i got stuck in february then when the farmer came to pull us out his 4x4 got stuck as well

Hi
Too late for that particular wedding, but are we allowed to advertise our own woodland site on this forum please Mr/Mrs Moderator?
