| | | The last tally-ho? Did anyone see this programme on last night? BBC1, 2215.
It was an overveiw on whats happened to the hunting comunity from when the ban went into effect to now basically?
what the hunts get up to now and whether the ban has been effective.
i found it really interesting, does anyone have any veiws on in it?
the bit that struck me the most was the fact that it would be virtually impossible to prove someone was/is unlawfully hunting?

| | | Re: The last tally-ho? well if thats the case what was the point of imposing the ban in the first place?!.......
i think its going to be very difficult to actually prove that someone went out to intentinally hunt, whether they did or not, theres too many ways that they know that they get around the law or through the loopholes.

| | | Re: The last tally-ho? A few years ago I was out walking my dog when a dog from the other side of the hedge flushed a hare out. My dog being a spaniel chased anything that moved. She chased the hare some distance before giving up. She did'nt have a cat in hells chance of catching it. We were just out for a walk
If that happened now I would be fined under the hunting with dogs act. They just did not think this law through. They let a minority rule the way to get votes. I don't care if people go hunting. I don't do it. If people want to shoot and fish who am I to tell them not to do it. |

I think you will find that there has to be 2 or more dogs to be breaking the law. Mark you I often see people walking 3 or 4 Spaniels, all off the lead, so what would happen if one of them flushed a hare and they all joined in the chase... . I am not sure whether it is alright to chase as long as the game is not killed by the dogs.
