| | | Re: Help Needed With a Name i like gill's idea for acorns. you could do a mural that showed an acorn growing into an oak tree, and then you cold have one of those amazing pictures of the oak tree and the life cycles it hosts- bugs, birds, other plants (i kid you not, i saw an oak tree with a foxglove growing between two branches yesterday).
sarah
p.s. i'm not a very creative person, hence no suggestions..... it took me long enough to come up with a title for my book (of which i have written about 2 chapters in 5 years...)

Scaley beings and creatures that swim Badgers, Rabbits, mice and rats
Voles and Moles and hanging bats
Trees and ponds and froggies spawn
Kymba's centre with a huge acorn
There you go, that should cover it |

Trust you to notice that, although in my defence I couldn't see any in the photos.
Looking forward to hearing your suggestions though |

| | | Re: Help Needed With a Name btw my suggestions were further up unfortunately most were bobbins - though i do quite like wildlife fun for everyone
but IMO the best is still wildlife wonders - best bet would be to ask the kids at the school what they think , as they are closer to target auidence age than most of us

I liked Tursiops' suggestion- Wild About Woods. Kind of says it all. Bugs, slugs and things with wings is a nice name too. I'd of thought something that included the name of the location might be better than a generic name that could be used anywhere. If the woods nearby have a name, I'd be tempted to include that somehow. |

*Back in serious and hopefully helpful mode* - is it a wildlife haven - that makes it sound as though its a nature reserve ,i thought it was more of an education centre

| | | Re: Help Needed With a Name how about... the wonderful world of wildlife whimsy
you could have all whimsical facts in a sort of treasure hunt. facts like.....
1. lapwings can fly up to 40mph
2. peregrines are the fastest bird on the planet and can drop on prey at a whopping ***mph (i don't know the exact speed)
3. yew is the best tree for making bows and arrows...the light wood works best in tension so goes on the outside of the bow, and the dark wood works best in compression so goes on the inside of the bow (one for the boys)
4. there's a type of tree in america that is 2000years old and is still growing! (not strictly british but awesome none the less)
5. ash and oak trees can grow as tall as three double decker buses stacked on top of one another
etc etc.
i could probably list a lot more, i have a fun filled fact book full of stuff like this!
