"...although we now have some 8416 members, more than 6750 of them have only ever made 1 post on the site with more than 6200 having never made a single post at all!"
I got these stats from the members list having listed the members in order of posts made.
Surely the real question resulting from these stats is why do so many members apparently have so little to say?

| | | Re: Lovely Members more wanted Sorry, no lovely members - you'll have to make do with me
Isn't this the general rule for e-fora? Indeed for most organisations (how many people attend their building society AGM, their Council meetings ... ? How many people vote?).
Isn'this the 1:10:90 rule?
1% of the members do 90% of the talking; 90% of the members contribute 1% of the debate?
A certain amount of this, presumably, is because people have to sign on to sites and thus nominally become members but decide they don't like it and never visit again. So a lot of 'sleeping' members would probably not regard themselves as members at all ... It's a general problem .... Quote:

And this is what makes this a great Forum. So long may it continue..
Who needs Dull, Boring, Uninteresting people? (Not me )

| | | Re: Lovely Members more wanted plus of course a lot of our "membership" join so as to be able to view the pictures in the gallery full size and /or to post pictures - we have a suprising number of people who put pics in but never post on the forum
then of course there are those who join to ask one specific question , get it answered then disapear
and those who have left for whatever reason but havent been deleted
at the end of the day with regard to nightshades original post we are growing pretty quick , I would imagine that the jump from 0 to 1000 took a lot longer than the jump from 7000 to 8000 so it does seem that our membership is increasing at an increasing rate which must in part be due to members recomending us to theire freinds.
I guess eventually we will get to a maximum capacity where everyone who is interested has joined and there are no interested people left to recomend wab to who are not already members , but that ought to be a ways off yet
