The wildflower superstition page - http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/nature/node/778 - citing the following;

You can tell your fortune based on the day you find the first flower of spring.

Monday means good fortune,
Tuesday means greatest attempts will be successful,
Wednesday means marriage,
Thursday means warning of small profits,
Friday means wealth,
Saturday means misfortune,
Sunday means excellent luck for weeks.

Was of great disappointment to me today.

I spotted some snowdrops this afternoon, and so now I've got "Thursday means warning of small profits"

Are you sure it was profits, or could it have been Prophets? I could handle bumping into a 5 foot preacher.

Also, technically, is commission profit?

Surely profit is the return received on an investment?

Sorry to bang on but its pay day tomorrow and I'm hoping for a good pay cheque.

Sure. I am also concerned with Wednesday- meaning marrage. What if you are already married? Does it mean divorce as well? No, I'd sooner not be superstitious about the flowers and days on which the first are seen each Spring.
