Unable to upload to the Gallery

I have been trying to upload to the Gallery but everytime I hit the submit button the egg timer comes on and eventually bombs out after a few minutes saying the web site cannot be reached. Anyone have any ideas as to why this should be happening.

Hi Roy,

The website timed out for me the other day when I was uploading, and generally I've had it time out a few times lately when trying to view images. I was starting to think the problem must be at my end rather than with WAB, but I'm not sure. I haven't as yet raised it with Stu or anyone else.

If you still can't upload to the moderated galleries, how about trying to upload to forum images? This is unmoderated so should allow you to upload directly to it. It will be interesting to see if this works. If it does you can PM me and I'll transfer the images to the appropriate galleries. But if the problem remains let me know and I'll inform Stu.

Hi Matt, Just tried uploading to Forum Images but same thing happened - bombed out after a few minutes. I have been trying to upload for several days now with no joy, strange!

Using IE7 Matt. Have not uploaded for while so wondering if my account has been frozen or something. I managed to upload to other sites no problems.

Definitely nothing frozen on you're account Roy. Have you tried it with just one image? I'll have a dig around and see if I can find anything.

Hi Stu, I have tried a couple of different images but only one at a time.

I managed to upload and delete an image under your name from this end, so everything seems to be working OK. Could you try uploading via firefox browser to see if that makes any difference

Just had a thought Stu, I have a laptop as well as my desktop so I will try uploading from There (still IE7).

Stu, exactly the same thing with the Laptop - hung for a couple of minutes and then bombed out. Surely there must be other user with IE7? I have managed to upload to three other sites tonight with no problems, very strange.

I'm sure there are plenty of other members using IE7, although I use IE6 or Firefox. I'm at a loss to explain why you can't upload. It might be worth downloading Firefox, it only takes a few minutes and is more reliable in my opinion. Obviously you shouldn't need to do this, but it might do the trick.

I'm using IE7, no problems at all. No help to you of course, but you can count that out as a reason.
Have you tried logging out, clearing out your cookies and logging in again? Worth a try.

you can Roy. You just open whichever one you want to use, just like any other piece of software. I've currently got both open for instance.

IE7 can't be the sole reason why you can't upload but it may be something to do with your problems (e.g. IE7 security settings). As Graham says, it might be worth clearing your cookies (Tools>Internet Options>Delete Cookies).

Hi Graham, I have tried logging out and in again also cleared everything out with CCleaner this afternoon (inc Cookies). Also tried Firefox.
Maybe it Knows that my Photos are not very good and refuse to upload them

One point, don't be offended, but are you sure the images your loading aren't too big?

there is something funny going on with the uploads - yesterday another member emailed me some pics which she was finding unable to upload but they uploaded fine first try for me , and i'm using IE7 also

there were some issues with the second to most recent MS updates to IE7 - specifically with the microsoft antiphishing thingy which took a real dislike to certain wab functions - if you've installed that try turning it off but beyond that i'm confunzled too

I cannot upload still and when moving between forums get the "cannot display this page"
I press refresh and all is well.I am on cable broadband and have no probs.with other sites

I had to turn the phishing filter off on IE7 as it was causing problems.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and sugestions. I have tried everything I can including using firefox, still cannot upload so I guess I will have to just enjoy everyone else's photo's.

Further to my last post, I have managed to upload one image ok but had tried over fifty times before this one and twenty times after with no luck - bizarre.

We should start a club,I can only upload postage stamp sized images,there must be a common factor

My problems are fairly minor, but lately, when trying to open a page on WAB, there is a long delay and I often have to hit the stop button and then click refresh to try again. Most of the time the second click works. I've also had this problem when uploading (although I have to be careful because sometimes the first click has actually worked even though it seems to have hung and the images have upload twice).
