Upload Problem

Help!
For three days now I've been unable to upload any images. All I get is the !Page can't be displayed" Error message, saying that the server can't be found.
I've tried to upload from two different computers, exactly the same problem.
I can't even send a message through the Contact Us link, it gets returned almost instantly.
All viewing and posting in forums work ok.

Perhaps my account has in some way become corrupted?

Since my PM to you I have had a look at the site and found that several pages are down. There is no access to the list of members, the newspaper page is not loading properly. Seems they are having problems with the server they switched to last week.

I don't know if Helen is still having computer troubles but will keep trying to sort out what I can.

Not sure what's happening to be honest. We're still getting uploads from other users and there's nothing obvious that looks to be blocking your uploads. I probably have to run some database table repairs tomorrow to see if that'll fix it.

Let me know if things suddenly start working again.

Just tried again, two or three went through, others not.
Can't send any in batch mode.
The weird thing is when using Batch mode, it identifies the images ok, but when you try and finally post them, it fails.
I tried one file six times without success, another one went through first time!

glsammy - Looks like you're able to upload pics again as I've just put through a couple of birds that you uploaded, but I've no idea what happened to fix it

Still working on the email/contact us, but we'll hopefully have it sorted soon

Still not working correctly, as mention in earlier reply. Managed to get two out of six uploaded...

Had a quick look at the images uploaded, and noticed that the nuthatch is duplicated. Perhaps one of the failed efforts actually got through...can you delete one of them?

I've deleted one of the duplicates, but still baffled as to why some are now uploading and others not.

Do you get any error messages when you try to upload and it fails?

Yes, the standard "Page can't be displayed" message, with "Can't find server" listed as the reason.
It starts the process, and usually fails after a few seconds.
I also find it weird, until this week I've had no problems at all. As I mentioned earlier, I tried it on another computer, admittedly on the same internet connection, and the fault was the same. I've not changed anything at my end and I've no problem uploading or downloading anywhere else.

Just tired again this morning with two new images, tried six times, all failed.
The progress bar gets to the third, then it fails.
I'll try and log on from another computer on another internet connection some time over the weekend and see if that works.

We'll probably move to another server this weekend are there are a few problems that we still can't iron out since moving last week (newspaper etc) and the support from the host isn't that great.

We've just signed up with a new host this morning and should be changing over within the next few days without any loss of service or data. Hopefully, it'll get us back on track fairly soon.

Until then, everything else should be working as normal.

Tried again, and had some success, but I had to reduce the physical size of the images, before they would upload. Never had to do this before. Previously all had done was adjust the JPG parameter to below 500k and all would be OK. Now I have to also reduce the physical size of the image as well.
I also tried just reducing the JPG down to the same as the overall size, but this one wouldn't upload.
Go figure!

That's cracked it! Can now batch upload as well. BUT WHY?? Never before have I had to alter the image size before uploading.

You should be able to upload images up to 500k and 1280x1024. The old server lost one of the features that regulated these limits so almost any size could get through, but since we changed hosts last week they're back in again.

Glad you managed to get things working again. It certainly had me baffled.

been contacted by Tragus, who is now unable to upload any images. I just tried today and I didn't get the confirmation screen, just a blank page.
Seems the gremlins are back.....
