I have not yet managed to put an avatar on a forum, so is it easy?
Also anyone have a link to my fave bird as an avatar which is the Goldfinch?

Louise x | To put an avator up: Click on USER CP - top left on menu bar, then click on EDIT AVATAR in the menu on left. You should find some info on size their also.
Haven't got a pic of a Goldfinch for you though I'm afraid.

It is easy even I managed to do it today. Just make sure you reduce size to 80x80 and follow instructions.
