| | | 2 questions re posting to the Gallery 1.
I see the required minimum size is 800 x 600 pix
But if I isolate a small object e.g. an insect from a photo it might be smaller. I have one of 234 x 208 pix. It does not make sense to enlarge it since it will be a very coarse image. Will a small one not be accepted?
2.
I see that camera detail is listed with each pic. But if I process a photo to improve the image it no longer has this detail in the file. Is this acceptable? |

| | | Re: 2 questions re posting to the Gallery The minimum size is to try and retain the image quality seen on screen. If the image is unusual exceptions can be made. The trouble with an image of 234 x 208 is that it would look so small on screen. You could always upload it and see if the editors will allow it.
So far as camera info is concerned, it doesn't mattter at all. The info is taken from the exif data stored with the image. Your editing software must be excluding this info, you should be able to enable it to save this info, but it's not essential to the site. |

Actually I have realised my 2 mistakes-
To shoot small objects I should be using a large format on the camera.
and
if I isolate a central object from a big pic I am not obliged to reduce to the size of the object - I can cut out a screen-size patch with the object in the middle. It will then be of the required size - though it does not make any difference to the size of the object. |

This is to make the file size smaller. To avoid this use "save as" select jpg and save at a compresion of around 7. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
