Photo uploads

I sent a couple of waterfowl pics yesterday afternoon that haven't shown up yet. I understand they can take up to 24 hours to get screened etc. Is each section mod controlled and if so is there a direct link to the mods concerned so that a member can ask them directly about a photo or do we have to put a new thread up like this each time? Thanks.

If you put them in the unidentified gallery or the forum pics gallery they should go straight in as these galleries are unmoderated and design specifically for putting stuff on the forum.

Everything else goes into moderated galleries and can take a little while to appear especially if the Mods are busy. If you know which gallery you uploaded to, your best bet is probably to PM the editor of that gallery and ask, if they take longer than about 48 hours to appear

Thanks, I uploaded a couple of waterfowl pics, well a coot and some cygnets on Monday and put another 3 into the system last night of dragonflies and caterpillars, but still no show.

Your Dragonflies and caterpillars are now in the Gallery. I can't see any trace of your coot and cygnets. Perhaps they got lost in the ether! One point to remember when uploading is image size. Try to make them at least 800x600 pixels, with a maximum of 1280x1024, and a file size preferably below 250K.

The instructions I have copied pasted and printed out say the size should be 800x600 and upt to 1280x1024 when did the sizses change?
I have sent several and none has gone up

Beryl, it looks as if you may have inadvertently mixed the numbers instead of 1028 you put 1280. Easily done.

PS I did that with a PIN the other week at Sains. and had quite a job to get it unlocked.

I highlited the whole of the text , copied and pasted it into word. not altering the text at all. I then printed it out and had no problems until abbout two weeks ago.
I have just been to the guide lines and they are completely different. How many sets of guide lines are ther?
I have 800x600 and up to 1280x1024

Your right Beryl, I was wrong. mixed up my 1280 for 1028..I make mistakes all the time you know.
I've corrected the original post as I could have misled someone. I apologise for my error..please forgive me!

It is 1280x1024, the SXGA resolution that's the max size for most 17" & 19" monitors

I'm not sure if I I've accidentally put 1028 somewhere, I probably have , but it should definitely read 1280.

I got in such a muddle with my PIN the hole in the wall swallowed the card . I had to have a new pin in the end, one I could remember
