I have 2 notifications shown at the top right of the web page. Unread profile visitor messages
When I go onto my profile there are no new messages..
How do I clear this notification, they are supposed to disappear when you go to your profile but mine don't.. 
Any help appreciated..

I usually click on the notification sign itself and go through it that way.

Try clearing your browser cache` or your cookies Elaine, that should sort it.

I found the c drive where do I go from there. | click "tools" at the top of your firefox page, then "clear private data" on the menu that drops down.A window will pop up, just tick everything except "saved passwords" , click the "clear private data now" button, and it`ll clear everything for you.

It may also be worth trying a "hard" refresh of the page - in IE you refresh while holding down F5 , not sure if its the same with firefox or not (mark probably knows  )

Cheers everyone,
I have done a hard refresh doing ctrl+ f5 and ctrl+f5+R and I have opened up in another browser "Opera" I am back on firefox now.
And its still there.
No one else seems to be experiencing the same problem..
Any more suggestions welcome. |

i doubt its an incompatibility issue - amonst others stu is a firefox user.
as it appears to be only you it must be something to do with your computer or potentially your profile rather than a bug in the site as a whole. However i'm lost as to what it could be.
i take it you are absolutely sure that you dont have any unread messages - maybe ones that arent new but which got missed lower down ?

The only other suggestion i could make would be to clear all your profile messages and start again, but granted, you may not want to do that.

I have looked through all of my messages and all have been read.
All new messages that I get don't stay as unread.
I will now try internet explorer. 
I was messing about trying to delete profile messages before this happened..
How do you delete profile messages.. |

I have just solved the problem by deleting two messages from my profile and the "unread messages" has gone back to 0..
Maybe I was the only one to try to delete profile messages. |

Go to your list of private messages
Check the ones you want to delete
Select 'Delete' from the drop-down list
Click on 'Go'
