| | | Buddies I have received a few buddy requests from members who where already on my buddy list. Does this mean since the update, new friend requests have to be done again or does your previous list stay the same as?
Cheers
Jez

Jez | who were the requests from? I can't see any change from before/after the upgrade to your account as it doesn't look like any were added/deleted |

| | | Re: Buddies I'm not sure the whole "freinds request" thing was a good idea - its very "facebook"- in my opinion my freinds are those people i am freindly with - and i can tell whether they are on line by looking at whose online, without needing a special list.
I have absolutely zero interest in recieving requests to be "freinds" from people i dont know - if they want to be freinds they can talk to me on the boards and make freinds in the usual way. That way you can work out whether they are genuine potential mates or weirdo stalker material (when you are as handsome, suave, and debonair as me you have to be careful of the potential for young ladies getting obsessed )

I would settle for some older ones if they were wealthy enough to keep me in the manner to which I wish to become accustomed.
But seriously, I'm not sure exactly how this buddy list thing works. Is there an explanation where I can read the details somewhere on the site?
Like eeyore, I am getting 'buddy requests' but aren't sure exactly what this friends scheme entails. |

Like eeyore, I am getting 'buddy requests' but aren't sure exactly what this friends scheme entails. | Me too! I've just logged in for the first time in weeks only to find I've had several requests to be friends (my apologies for the delay in responding to the members concerned!) but I've no idea what the concept of having "friends" on WAB involves
Currently and due to spending more and more time out 'in the field', I'm finding it difficult enough to find time to even have a quick look at WAB on a weekly basis and therefore (and I'm sorry if this sounds a little unsociable) I don't want to get into something which requires me to spend even more time on the computer.
What's this WAB "friends" thing all about please??

| | | Re: Buddies I think everyone's just looking into this a bit too much- it's a feature that you can use if you like, and one you don't have to. It's no commitment, it doesn't mean you're tied to anything- It's just a display of the people who you get on with- ok, not completely necessary, but it's no bother whatsoever. Need not worry. |

i was inspired to use their name in this context by paul using showaddywaddy in the same way on the climate change thread
I think the use of band names instead of profanity could be a coming trend - next time we get a muppet who needs to wind his neck in i shall tell him that hes talking out of his oasis

| | | Re: Buddies I don't really get this 'friends' thing. If anyone asks me to be a pal, then invariably I comply cos I'm a good chap, even if they are a potential serial killer. So now I have a few friends, I don't really know what to do with them. Daily banal pleasantries all seems rather tame. Also, there are perhaps a few good folks on here who I'd like to be friends with, but I don't offer the hand of friendship in case they tell me to 'do one'. Thus I am in a constant state of 'friend limbo'.
As Harold Steptoe once sang....'what kind of fool am I?'.
(On the Chumbawumba theme, are they still going and is Norbert Nobacon (or whatever he is called) still with them?)
Regards, Chris
