adding smilies

I dont seem to be able to add smilies into my posts, can anyone either tell me how or point me to any instructions.

when you click the new thread button you should have a white box in front of you to text into. Above it in grey are font and format choices, beside it on the right should be a group of 11 smilies, you just click on one. Good luck

If you can't see the editing tools when you open a editing window, it's possible your options are set for the basic editor. Click on the Control icon, click on Edit Options and scroll down to the bottom of the option list. If you see Basic editor in the box, click on the tab and change it to the Standard Editor, with the extra editing controls.

Thanks for the replies. I was expecting to see the smilies in the text in full colour but when I clicked on a smilie I just got the line smilie. Thought it was not working. However, when the message is posted the smilies are there in their full glory. Sorry it was my lack of understanding.
