Email notification of replies

I have not been on here much recently so forgive me if someone has already asked this question.....

I always used to get email notification automatically when anyone replied to a thread that I had posted in. Has this changed? I have not received any email notifications for a few days. I have also checked my junk mail folder just in case, but nothing there.

I found the notifications useful and would like to know what has happened to them.

I thought I had the same problem. Have you made sure that the 'notification' box is checked in the 'your post' list?

I am not completely sure what you mean by this. I have been into the control panel and all my posts are set to "instant email notification". I have not changed anything recently so I don't know what has happened.

JennyS, if you click 'your posts' which is under the title bar it brings up list of all the posts you have subscribed to. On the right of that list there's a column 'notification' which should say type you have chosen - daily/instant etc. Make sure you have put a tick in/checked the box at the top immediately to the right of 'notification'. Hope this makes sense and helps.

It looks like we've got a bit of a bug in the software and we're trying to pin down when/how/why it stopped sending out notifications to some of the members (including some of the mods). We think we've pinned down the when, now just trying to work out the how and why

Thanks Stu. I actually received notification of this update, after re-entering my email address into the system.

I've not got mine either - just checked this and mine has been 'unchecked' somehow.

At last the problem is solved for me and a couple of others. Just re-entering my email address or password wouldn't do it, but when I changed them, and then changed them back again, That did the trick.

All appears so far to be working.
At least I'm now getting email confirmations, not sure about PM's yet but I can't see why they shouldn't now work.

So anyone else having this problem, try doing the same.

I havent had any problems until 2 days ago.Havent bothered too much but in the last 2 days I havent had any notifications for my subscribed threads or from the gallery to say if my photos had been accepted or not.

I have been into the control panel and all my posts are set to "instant email notification".

Its probably because you entered your location onto the map the other day, that seems to be the cause of email alert problems.Try going into your profile and re entering your email address, that seems to solve the problem....

One Point, I had to enter a DIFFERENT address before it would reset correctly. Once it had, I then entered the old one and all was well.
I hadn't entered anything recently on the location map so perhaps that's not the only reason.

Yep Graham,I remember you posting about it.Although probably not the sole cause of the problem thats what caused it for me, and a few others the other day when using the map (see the balloon missing thread).I noticed cherrybee had used the map also on the same day so the same has probably happened there too.My problem was remedied just by re entering my email address and confirming it again via the resulting email message from WaB.

How strange it was definately after I put my marker on the map.Of to try the suggested option

All done now I just have to wait and see if I get any emails to know whether or not it has worked

I wasn't disappeared from the map but I have stopped getting e-mails so possibly no connnection?

Perhaps it was a coincidence..Anyway I changed my email then changed it back and Viola I am now receiving emails again

Yes, whatever the reason, and the map isn't the only one, re-setting the email works. It's really strange how this happened, there again it's computer software so it's amazing how the system usually works well!

I get loads too also when i click new posts when i log in i get the search page?
