Unhappy While I still have some hair left

Can someone please help me. I have been trying to upload a profile picture for two days and its just not happening, each time I click on the 'edit profile picture' link the site closes and I cannot access other sites either until I close down and re-boot completely. I have tried disabling the firewall but this has had no effect

That's odd and not something I've come across before. What browser are you using - firefox or Internet Explorer or something else?

Hello Blackbrook Eye. Sorry to hear of your problems and I realise this is of no help but I use Internet Explorer with AOL isp and have never had any bother

Would it be a cheek to ask which antivirous you use, as I have a suspicion that mine could be the cause of the problem, I have contacted them and I am awaiting a reply

If you think its the anti virus you might want to download avast which is free and with which i have had no problems with wab (though i'm currently running norton cos it came with my shiny new laptop - no probs there either)

I did have a lot of probs with vista tho until i turned off the in built security so it could be that - it doesnt like the google ads for some strange reason. My other computer which is XP works fine which is odd.

Re: While I still have some hair left

It's strange and because you're using AOL it's not easy to troubleshoot, but I've ran an analyzer on the page and it's only got one very minor code error that definitely wouldn't be causing the page to crash.

You should avoid doing to much to anti-virus software unless you're really sure that it's causing the problems and you shouldn't really run two AV packages at the same time either as that can usually lead to lots of problems with many software packages.

Instead, as always, clear your cookies and browser cache to see if that fixes it. You could also try a different browser like Firefox then let us know how you get on.

Hi Stuart, Too late, I have reinstalled my antivirous today, and have managed to get the picture to the edit stage on the site, whether it gets any further or not remains to be seen, please tune in for the next episode.

Re: While I still have some hair left

I have been playing around on the site for a few hours, poking my nose into everything and all seems well, up to now, so it seems it possibly was my antivirous playing up. I thank all three of you who have come to my assistance and hope I can return the favour in some way one day. Best regards Keith B
