Just as a further bit of info that might help, try running a broadband speed check to see if you're getting anything like the connection that you'd expect. There's often a speed checker on your PC when you install the broadband software, but if not then try one like this one on the net: Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
It'll give you a rought idea of your speed for downloading and uploading files | Checked that the little locked lock is there next to my internet icon and it is so no-one theoretically is pinching my bandwith at the moment...........
The speed I'm not sure about but everything is terrifically fast - or I think so - to what it was before on dial up and compared with work which is terribly slow - all seems to happen in a blink of any eye - if its going to do..........
I'm just stuck at the minute no-one has enough knowledge locally to nip round and have a look and I'm fighting shy of going back into the dealers (tho I'm probably faced with it in the end) cos he will charge and talk very fast and I won't have a clue and his knee will be jiggling up and down until he sets my eyelid of with a nervous twitch........... I'm too old for this really I am!!

| | | Re: Problem Uploading Images Well I've got 2 to upload (and one that has been uploaded a long time ago - but that was my fault not this machine!). I have to resize in Paint and store them elsewhere than drive E in PSP. . . also there does seem to be a timeout - if other folk are in a queue it knocks me back but if I choose to upload late at night then it seems more willing.
The chap who may sort me out (so to speak) is still en route and I'm still fighting off a revisit to my dealer - don't want to lose the tower for days again just yet . . .
I have an even more splendid Grasmere pic (it was glorious the other day) but can't make it have any of that one!!:

| | | Re: Problem Uploading Images And so my (by now) boring saga goes on
I can upload - but only one at once - and only if they have been resized in Paint - not in Paint Shop Pro.......... yep makes loads of sense I don't think
My friends IT chappie may make it to my house tomorrow afternoon - and at least I can show the problem and just maybe he might have a clue as to what the resolution is . . . please oh please let this be sorted soon

Couldn't resist posting my horoscope for today........... I'm not sure whether it refers to uploading probs here or the fact that my shower has begun leaking furiously again (plumber regrouted but its only lasted a couple of months and its as bad again.....) is it something about me do you think But that horoscope is a pearler..........

Electronic equipment that seems to be going totally haywire may lead to your discovering a new talent for repairing such machines, Pauline. Impatience and frustration could keep you from calling in a repairman. However, even though you seem to be doing OK on your own, you might want to consult a professional anyway just to make sure the problems won't pop up again. Your income might depend on it! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
