| | | Help What Spider is This Hi my names Jason I am new to the forum and really hope you can help I moved into my house 3 years ago and noticed a very funny looking spider unlike anything I have seen in the UK every winter it vanishes last year it had hundreds of baby's i was not happy now it it huge and very aggressive and info would be great I am trying to bet a better photo but it is one angry spider !!  |

Generally not a problem if you leave them alone. Resist the urge to pick it up and give it a cuddle. |

| | | Re: Help What Spider is This I'd agree that it's Steatoda, and nobilis is most likely. They're not a problem apart from the webs getting really scruffy if you leave them too long between dustings.

Exactly Where-abouts in the UK are you?
This looks like a Steatoda nobilis to me guys, not a problem if you leave them alone. I had a large 'bunch/nest' of these guys in my kitchen, I counted 7 survivors from a large nest of spiderlings from last year.
I have only seen about three since wintert set in. This is not a lot of them since breeding several hundred.
