I've been trying to id a few spiders myself today, and I'm going to suggest Steatoda bipunctata...

I'd agree its steatoda, probably a gravid female, but it could equally be a dark s. grossa the large false widow. Both of these species are found in and around houses, and you really need a look at the genitalia to be sure.

i would say Steatoda bipunctata also sometimes referred to as the Rabbit Hutch Spider. Frequently there is a line of tiny cream coloured dots running around the midline of the abdomen. which i can just make out in your pic i think
