Could be that I'm noticing more but I've seen a lot more Steatoda nobilis around this autumn.

hi tinky welcome to WAB  as Wild-Woman and aeshna5 have said its a Steatoda sp ill stick my neck out and say Steatoda grossa common name is false widow The abdomen is a red-brown colour with a crescent shaped stripe at the front and three pale triangular spots along the top. These markings vary from spider to spider. Sometimes they're cream coloured and sometimes they're purple or very dark brown its harmless dont worry

Going on the pretty obvious and distinct markings on the spider this is a Steatoda Nobilis, not as mentioned a Steatoda Grossa. | | |
