| | Spider for ID found in the shed Hi,
can anyone tell me what this spider is, seemed quite stubborn when I moved the boxes it has set up home in and didn't want to move out.

Yes they can be a bit stubborn when they become fully grown. This year I had one in my shed which attached part of it's web to my bench grinder.
When I used the machine it rather reluctantly moved into a corner but returned when things went quiet. |

| | | Re: Spider for ID found in the shed I second the "stubborn" bit. I had a large female that set up home in the corner of the compost bin this summer. She would glower menacingly at anyone that opened the lid and didn't move for weeks, despite all the grass clippings and vegetable peelings that thrown on her web.

| | | Re: Spider for ID found in the shed There's a zygiella behind the boiler in my kitchen that's been there for weeks. It seems some spiders "set up home" and stay there - at least as long as they're still successfully catching flies. I also had an A. diadematus between compst bin and fence that stayed for months.
