Found in damp scrub woodland.

| | | Re: Spider for Id please Hi Frits, I`ve just had a google & I can see the variations now & you`r right (as usual  ). I was looking on the euro spiders site & the patterning looks diferent to mine, so looked at different images once I had a name.

| | | Re: Spider for Id please Patterning is not always a good way to ID spiders. Yours appears to be a male (can't quite see, but it does look that way), so he is out hunting females. The female is probably in a web retreat (search for Lariniodes cornutas in the Gallery, I have posted 2 photos in there). They are very often found in proximity to water. One of mine was in a wet meadow, the other at least 1/4 mile form any water.
Nice photos, and a very attractive spider.
