| | | Re: Spider woke me up last night! No definitely not a good career move for me. I just can't be doing with spiders. Other insects I'm fine with, but for some illogical, but deep seated reason spiders are a no go. I've got goosebumps just looking at the big furry one that escaped and I know it's a far distance from me. Immersion therapy ain't working! ;p

Mind you, he threw a wobbly about the Tegenaria males stalking the living room floor the other day - maybe larger spiders aren't such a good idea. I did point out that the Tegenarias were just looking for mates but it didn't go down too well. |

I used a 7" breakfast bowl to trap it and if it's legs were outspread It would be the same diameter. Any help identifying it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! | This post made me laugh and it reminded me of an event some years ago when I actually heard something running across my pillow!
I carefully put the bedside light on and, sure enough, there was the biggest spider (I now realise it was T. Duellica) I'd ever seen in my life running into my wife's hair! - Naturally, she asked what was up and, like a twit, I told her. The effect was electric and she ended up leaning out of the window shaking her head violently and screaming before running into the bathroom for an impromptu shower.
Happy days.

Sooooo glad this has never happened to me!
These whoppers have been keeping me company in my house for a couple of weeks now.
My poor 9 year old daughter won't go up the stairs or across the landing, let alone sleep, without the light on!
We've had so many she's been having nightmare's about them!
Last night one scuttled across the living room floor past my bare feet & another one kept me company in the downstairs loo!
I don't mind wickle spiders but these do my head in!
Don't worry, I've been putting them outside but it seems as fast as I do, they come right back in again!
That's Autumn for you.
