Evening Wabber watchers,
Is this spider that I've photographed from its underside a sort of 'common' garden spider?
Its markings look a bit different from the usual camouflage our arachnid friends wear!

I can't help with the id, but I love the pic Is it through a window or something - most of its legs don't appear to be on anything!

Thanks for the appreciative photo 'pat on the back!'
Our V.I.P. was pictured in a patch of newly planted, native, 'twiggy' hedging and dried up weeds and wildflowers at the bottom of the garden. He was, I suppose, at 30 degrees to the ground, but to all intense and purposes, upside down....goodness knows what he was hanging onto or off.
I suppose the fact that he was at a different angle to at least 3 or 4 other garden spiders attracted my attention!

It's a male Araneus diadematus a.k.a. garden spider etc. Markings and colours can be quite variable.
