Micaria?
Is this Micaria pulicaria? I tried to catch it for close ups but it was too fast. This is my best shot.

Yes it looks good for Micaria pulicaria. Not a species I've found many of over the years, though have found it on logs in sunny areas usually. Not one you'll be lucky enough to catch out and about as they are pretty quick and and ant-like.

Thank you N. 9 spider. I must get myself a pooter! This is the second I see this year in the same area, but the other one was a male, so I have a garden population of the species, excellent!
