| | | Spider Identification Hey there,
Found this spider in my bedroom, would someone be able to lead me in the right direction because I can't seem to find any pictures similar to it.
Thanks! |

| | | Re: Spider Identification Thanks for that! I forgot to add it's length, seems to be around 5mm- but not overly sure! I let him go in the garden.
I've just been a bit worried lately as I had a small nest of spiders in my bedroom on the window- tiny little black things, there were maybe 10 of them, I did try to get as many out as possible but can't help but think there are others still here. Ever since then my partners been getting bites in the night, small chickenpox lookalike things- not sure if it's an insect bite or not though!
Anyway, found the one above on the wall behind my bed but I'm pretty sure it's not the ones that I found on the window. Clubiona Comta don't bite do they? I know theres been reports of Clubiona corticalis biting.
Also the other night one fell out of my hair! Had a large abdomen and it jumped onto my hand, flicked it off as it gave me a fright. No idea if that one was the ones on the window but it didn't look like it :/ Seems to be spiders all over the place lately! Never usually have this problem- but it stops me sleeping at night lol |

| | | Re: Spider Identification There are very few UK spiders which can inflict a bite on humans; and definitely not the one you have photographed.
Even the 'biters' only do it in extreme circumstances when they are seriously threatened. They don't deliberately seek out people to bite in the night.
Do you have a cat or dog? The symptoms you describe sound more like flea bites to me. |

| | | Re: Spider Identification Well that's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure I didn't have some rare spider breeding in my bedroom! lol If I do come accross them again I'll be sure to get an ID on them.
We do have a dog, though she doesn't seem to have fleas, she's treated with frontline every 2 months, and I'm the one who usually gets the bites but I've been fine! No bumps bites etc. I've gone through the usual, mites, bed bugs, alergy to washing powder etc. changed the sheets so many times, checked under the mattress and so on, but due to me not having symptoms, it just seems weird. He's had them for about a week now but they seem to be fading- they aren't itchy or painful so most likely not a bite, deffo a trip to the GP though if they don't go!
The beds along the window, and he sleeps on the window side, so with it all happening at the same time I couldn't help but think it could be the baby spiders snacking on him! lol | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
