Somerset Spider ID
Have recently moved to Somerset and found the Spiders very different to Berkshire. Have found lots of false widow spiders in the garden and garage and also lots of these (see photo). The body is quite large, maybe up to 20mm. Any help in IDing it much appreciated, thanks

It could do with a little more light on it, but it looks like Segestria florentina to me. It would normally be found in some crevice, and whilst they can be quite bold if interfered with, and have been known to give a bite if severely annoyed, they are nothing to worry about.
