I noticed the Pholcus in my outside toilet was holding a wrapped spider and was looking considerably fatter a few days ago. The next day, I picked up the remains of the prey and I was shocked to find it was a Dysdera, I don't think there is any other British spider with such long fangs and chelicers of red colour, but what do you think? These flimsy Pholcus make good bets for spider battles!

P. Phalangioides are amazing spiders. Anybody know if it's true that eat Huntsman spiders? |

They are voracious predators. In my house they've overcome several Tegenaria + a couple of centipedes. |

It does make you wonder whether they are having a significant effect on the other spider species that like to share a home with us. I can almost guarantee that I can find one in the living room. They appear everywhere you go, they must be the pigeons of the spider world!
They do tend to wee a lot too!
