| | | Dictynidae? Hi,
I've searched high and low for this, I have had a couple of other Dictyna sp. but I can't find this one anywhere. The hairy carapace has me thinking it's Dictynidae, help appreciated!

| | | Re: Dictynidae? I can't give you a definitive answer but the pattern on the abdomen and other markings are not unlike those of D. uncinata. See - http://www.fugleognatur.dk/gallery.a...arge&ID=101343 |

| | | Re: Dictynidae? Thanks jaguarondi, you're right about the pattern!
The one you linked to looks more like one I had last year which I named Dictyna uncinata, with a hairy abodomen but I had it marked as 1.5mm.
This spider doesn't appear to have the hairy abdomen, but it could be the same? Spiders can be variable I know, but I don't know about the hairs.

| | | Re: Dictynidae? There's pics of male Dictyna uncinata on eurospiders which don't have so much hair, and look like mine so it looks like the males are not so hairy. Dictyna uncinata photos and info

| | | Re: Dictynidae? You may have got it there - the cephalothorax does look like Dictyna. Also, whilst I've little experience at photographing spiders I've looked at plenty under the microscope, and hairs can often be more visible from some angles than others. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
